White House chief of staff Ron Klain on Oct. 14 retweeted Harvard economist Jason Furman’s opinion that the United States’ economic problems such as rising inflation and supply chain issues are “high class problems.” Klain retweeted a Twitter post from Furman which reads: “Most of the economic problems we’re facing (inflation, supply chains, etc.) are high class problems. We wouldn’t have had them if the unemployment rate was still 10 percent. We would instead have had a much worse problem.” Retweeting Furman’s Twitter post on Thursday, Klain wrote: “This” alongside two emoji hands pointing at the original tweet.
