Dana White Defends Trump, Says Mar-A-Lago Raid is ‘Madness’

Last Updated on August 11, 2022

While speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Dana White was asked for his thoughts on the Biden FBI’s raid of Trump’s Mar-A-Lago property. White referred to the brazen raid as “madness” and said there were other politicians more worthy of a raid. Trump and Dana White have been friends for over two decades after Trump was instrumental in keeping the UFC afloat in its early days.

“I don’t even know what to say, I don’t even know what to think about any of that stuff because, again, I don’t know enough about it but yeah, I can think of about – without getting all political right now and all this f**king bullsh*t – but there’s 10 other people’s houses that probably should’ve been raided before his,” White said when asked about the incident during a press conference. “So it’d be interesting how this plays out.”

White added that he planned on calling President Trump sometime later in the week. “It’s madness, man. The whole world is crazy right now. I don’t know what to think and I don’t know enough about it and I haven’t talked to him. I’ve only seen bits and pieces on the news so I don’t know exactly what’s going on, but I’ll probably call him in the next couple of days,” White continued. “I didn’t wanna call him, I’m sure he’s, you know, got better f***ing things to do than for me to call… But I will talk to him in the next couple of days.”

Trump also received defenses from multiple former UFC title contenders. “I remember always hearing about how China would censor and arrest their political dissidents,” jiu-jitsu specialist Jake Shields tweeted after the raid. “Sound familiar?” Shields further called for the FBI to be defunded. “I’m not a huge trump fan but the FBI and big tech’s reaction to him and his supporters shows he’s a threat to the ruling class.”

Jorge Masvidal, who has campaigned for Trump in Florida on a number of occasions, called the raid a “sad day for America.” “These are the tactics of Cuba and Venezuela,” he added. “No matter what side of the aisle you are on, this ain’t right.”
