‘Globalist RINO’ Dan Crenshaw Confronted by Conservative Activists at Texas GOP Convention

Last Updated on June 19, 2022

Representative Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) was confronted by conservative activists for his controversial stances regarding “red flag laws” and using American tax dollars to fund Ukraine’s war effort against Russia, as well as his connections to the World Economic Forum (WEF). Among those who confronted the Congressman was Alex Stein, a prominent YouTuber and conservative activist. Stein is also a delegate for the Texas State legislature.

When confronting Crenshaw, Stein called him “Eyepatch McCain” and “Globalist RINO”, a dig at Crenshaw’s neoconservative foreign policy stances and moderate stances on cultural issues affecting Americans. Stein even likened him to late Senator and GOP Presidential nominee John McCain.

Corporate media outlets who reported on the altercation framed the incident as Crenshaw being hectored by “far right provocateurs” and members of the “Proud Boys”, and that he was the one being harassed. Outlets such as Mediate, The New York Post, and CNN all defended the Republican Congressman and his staff.

This is what happens when angry little boys like @alexstein99 don’t grow up and can’t get girlfriends…

Instead of addressing legitimate concerns that conservatives have had against the allegedly conservative Crenshaw, he once again deflected and said that Stein acted in the fashion he did because he’s an “angry little boy” who “couldn’t get girlfriends.”

Crenshaw has done this in several instances, most notably referring to those questioning Ukraine funding or showing concern over domestic economic issues as “repeating Putin’s talking points” as he did on Fox News several months ago.

After the original footage was released and put in circulation, other perspectives of the altercation made their way to Twitter. One angle, which was posted by journalist Cassady Campbell, definitively shows Crenshaw’s staff shoving Stein and pinning him against a wall.

The video contains commentary by Campbell on the incident.

The commentary cuts against the narrative spread by corporate media outlets that Stein and those with him were in any way affiliated with the Proud Boys. Independent journalists and activists ultimately were able to debunk the idea that Crenshaw was attacked by “far right provocateurs” by providing video clips that added more context to the situation.

Crenshaw has faced ample criticism from the right for siding with the left on several major issues over the past several years. His propensity for continuing and escalating foreign adventures is perhaps where the Congressman departs from the conservative base the most, although many on the right have roundly criticized him for supporting “red flag laws“, which many critics say skirts due process and puts the self-defense right of American citizens in the hands of bureaucrats and “public health experts”.

Crenshaw is also in the minority of House Republicans to vote for the “Immunization Infrastructure Modernization Act of 2021, H.R. 550, which would authorize $400 million to update immunization information systems.” Critics of this act claim that the funding could be used to track Americans’ vaccine status and ultimately be used to discriminate against those who are not vaccinated.
