VIDEO: Biden Accidentally Declares Trump ‘The President’ On 1/6 Anniversary

Speaking to the press, former Vice President Joe Biden accidentally declared Donald Trump to be “the President” of the United States on the anniversary of the 1/6 protests.

In a speech on Thursday designed to mark its first anniversary, Biden discussed the protests that took place at the Capitol on January 6 last year.

During his speech, Biden put the blame squarely on President Trump for the resulting chaos that day.

“What did we not see? We didn’t see a former president who had just rallied the mob to attack, sitting in the private dining room off the Oval Office in the White House, watching it all on the television and doing nothing for hours,” Biden said.

Following his speech, one reporter queried why Biden had not directly mentioned President Trump by name during the speech.

In his usual fashion, Biden proceeded to begin a long, lumbering speech declaring his reasons that still seemingly did not make a lot of sense.

“I think we just have to face the facts of what happened, and draw a clear picture for the American people. It’s not about me. It’s not about the Vice President. It really isn’t. That’s the thing that bothers me most about this sort of attitude that seems to be emerging to some degree in American politics,” Biden said. “It’s not about you, it’s about me, that’s how it’s viewed, but it’s not about me. It’s not about whether I’m president or whether she’s vice president, it’s about the system, and about when somebody decides to put himself above everything.”

Biden then made his latest faux pas.

Biden declared that he didn’t want to turn his speech “into a contemporary political battle between me and the President,” accidentally declaring that President Trump was the sitting president.

Q: “Why didn’t you mention President Trump by name?”

President Biden: “I did not want to turn it into a contemporary political battle between me and the president. It’s way beyond that. It’s way beyond that.”

Throughout the Biden administration’s time in office, and before, Biden has been known for making a number of serious gaffes. Last month, Biden agreed on live television with a NORAD caller who said “Merry Christmas and Let’s Go Brandon,” showing support for the viral phrase that is commonly known to mean “f**k Joe Biden.”

He has also repeatedly referred to Kamala Harris as the President of the United States.
