Former NFL runningback Zac Stacy was allegedly recorded on video as he punched his ex-girlfriend in full view of the couple’s five month old child in an incident that took place last Saturday at the home of Stacy’s ex-girlfriend, according to a report from TMZ. Stacy, now 30, last played in the NFL during the 2015 season with the New York Jets.
The video shows a man believed to be Stacy fully winding up and punching a woman twice. He then picked her up and threw her into a television stand, causing the television to fall on top of the woman. The man reported to be Stacy is then seen body slamming the woman onto another piece of furniture as she pleaded for him to stop. The man identified as the former NFL player then slammed the door and left the property.

“He punched me several times in the head! I begged him to stop because the baby was on the couch just a few feet from where he punched me,” the woman stated in a restraining order application obtained by TMZ.
“I fear for my life and my children’s lives,” wrote the unidentified woman. She immediately called the police following the attack and was briefly hospitalized. TMZ reports that she has since filed a restraining order against Stacy. TMZ also reports that neither Stacy nor his attorneys responded to requests for comment.
Stacy played two seasons for the Rams after being drafted in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft. His last NFL stint came with the Jets in 2015. Following his NFL career, Stacy played multiple seasons with independent league teams. He last played for the Memphis Express of the short lived AAF in 2019, which folded after their first and only season.
The brutal attack involving Stacy is yet another flashpoint in the NFL’s domestic violence epidemic. Several high profile NFL players including Greg Hardy, Kareem Hunt and Ray Rice have been involved in brutal domestic violence cases over the past decade. Rice infamously knocked out his girlfriend unconscious before dragging her into an elevator in one of the NFL’s most notorious domestic violence incidents.
